Heading north at an intersecting trail leads towards 'Whiterocks'. It's within walking distance, but has a totally different look from the red sandstone and black lava.

The whiterock is made from petrified sand dunes -- now turned to rock -- and is smooth and easy to walk on. A trail sign just points upwards towards the top -- and hikers are free to get there any way they want. This is a fun area to explore if you have the time.
