Early the next morning, I take the park bus to the last stop for "The Narrows"; a 'slot-canyon' hike -- and probably the most popular destination in the park. This is the last hike of the trip (and also the last day my camera worked). Well-fed chipmunks know that tourists carry (and drop) lots of snacks and nuts in this area.

This hike follows the Virgin River -- so it's a 'water hike' the entire way. You will always be hiking in water, and with lots of other people on this popular trail. Although the river is usually shallow, it does have 'potholes', round rocks and deep areas -- so it's helpful to follow others, and to bring hiking poles. It's impossible to get lost on this trail; just follow the river.
