Returning to the lodge between the morning and afternoon excursions provides a break from the mid-day jungle heat. Interesting 'woven' bird nests can be seen hanging from most of the taller trees around the hotel grounds (see inset).


It's hard to see much in the dense foliage; but the sound of hundreds of birds singing in the bushes just outside the cabana echos through the site. Walking anywhere near them to get a better look causes the entire invisible flock to immediately take off -- revealing bright blue & green parrots. But when they're perched -- only their outer green feathers show; making them hard to spot. See them? How many parrots can you find?
