From here the trail climbs more steeply up with the help of 'stairs' (behind me) towards Dream Lake.

This is a great time of year to visit Colorado. Many of the trees here are pine (which stay green all year), but others like aspen and birch are turning vibrant Autumn colors.

A refreshing breeze lifts the scent of pine trees up from the woods during the hike.
