This trail alternates between open meadows, steep mountainsides and forest areas (pictured) -- keeping it interesting and fun. The last .2 miles is a steep uphill climb to the top of Deer Mountain, which overlooks much of RMNP.

Thew views continue to improve along this trail.

Reaching the top, you'll find other hikers relaxing, picnicking and enjoying majestic sweeping views of much of the park and nearby areas. Estes Park & Estes Lake on the left; Mary's Lake on the right, plus clear views of Beaver Meadow below.
