  There are several temples at Machu Picchu dedicated to important animals & elements, like the condor, or the Temple of the Sun (pictured, top). The natural landscape was shaped and combined with stonework, and a cave below the temple was sculpted and likely used for religious ceremonies. We notice some animals that look like rabbits relaxing on the rock ledge (probably viscacha or chinchilla -- click the photo if you need help seeing them).
