After the hike, the drive to the Glymur Hotel nearby passes through some very quiet countryside compared to Reykjavik (which is really the only actual city in the entire country). Not much here besides the hotel, a few local farms -- and lots of sheep. In fact, there seem to be sheep everywhere once you get outside the city.

Hotel rooms are very large here (actually a separate 'house' about triple the size of my NY apartment). Kitchen to the right, bedroom behind me, and a large deck outside. More space than I know what to do with -- but nice. This hotel also has a service where guests can add their name to a list to be called in the event of northern lights at night -- but it was too cloudy for that this trip.
